Stillness Within the Passions
कामक्रोधलोभमोहमदमात्सर्यगोचरे। बुद्धिं निस्तिमितां कृत्वा तत्तत्त्वमवशिष्यते॥
kāmakrodhalobhamohamadamātsaryagocare | buddhiṃ nistimitāṃ kṛtvā tat tattvam avaśiṣyate

जब काम, क्रोध, लोभ, मोह, मद या ईर्ष्या का आवेग उठे, उसी के बीच में अपनी बुद्धि को निस्तिमित — पूरी तरह निश्चल — कर दो। आवेग को न दबाओ, न उसमें बहो; बस बुद्धि स्थिर रहे। तब उस आवेग के पीछे जो तत्त्व — शुद्ध चेतना — है, वही अकेला शेष रह जाता है।
