How to Calculate Sand
Calculating sand requirements involves determining volume and converting to weight. The basic formulas are:
Volume (cubic feet) = Length × Width × Depth (in feet)
Cubic Yards = Volume ÷ 27
Weight (tons) = Cubic Yards × Sand Density (typically 1.3-1.4 tons/yd³)
Bags = Total Weight (lbs) ÷ Bag Weight
Recommended Sand Depths
