Convert Your Salary to a Daily Budget
Your salary is ₹50,000/month. But your real daily spending power? Probably ₹800. Let's find your actual number.
Calculate My BudgetYour Salary Isn't Your Daily Budget
If you earn ₹50,000/month, your "daily income" is ₹1,667. But that's a lie. After rent (₹15,000), EMIs (₹5,000), bills (₹3,000), and basic savings (₹5,000), your actual spending money is ₹22,000 — or ₹733/day.
Most people never do this math. They spend as if they have ₹1,667/day for the first 15 days, then panic for the last 15. This calculator shows you the real number from day one.
The Salary-to-Daily-Budget Formula
The conversion is straightforward but most people skip the critical step of subtracting commitments:
True Daily Budget = (In-Hand Salary - All Fixed Costs - Savings Target) ÷ 30
Note: Use your in-hand salary (after tax, PF, TDS), not your CTC or gross. Many people use gross salary in their mental math, which inflates their perceived daily budget by 20-30%.
What Your Daily Budget Says About Your Financial Health
Daily budget < Survival cost: You're spending more on fixed commitments than you can afford. Consider reducing rent, restructuring EMIs, or increasing income.
Daily budget = Survival cost (₹0 left for lifestyle): You're living paycheck to paycheck. Any unexpected expense will push you into debt.
Daily budget > 2x Survival cost: Healthy zone. You have room for lifestyle spending AND savings. Automate the savings before spending the surplus.
